UPDATE: Police SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Urges Officers to ‘desist from stopping motorists without proper identification

The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said that no policeman should stand on the road to do stop and search without proper identification.

In a series of tweets he shared earlier today, Wednesday 28th September Adejobi stressed that it is a highly unprofessional and a gross violation of the IGPs directive, for any officer to conduct stop and search on mufti.
This comes following the recent backlash that was generated by Nigerians after a Group of unidentified officers in mufti uniform were spotted molesting motorists on their way to work.
A Facebook user who confirmed the incident said the victim was stopped and then asked to provide necessary id, which he did.

He was then asked to pay a certain amount of money before he could gain access to his vehicle, which he refused.
