Adekunle Gold Reveals How Pheelz Helped Him In Getting Signed To YBNL

Nigerian singer, Adekunle Gold has opened up on how he got signed into the YBNL record label, owned by Olamide.

Gold said he was able to get signed to the label through the help of Pheelz.

The singer made the revelation during his concert at the London 02 Brixton Academy on Saturday.

Midway into his performance, the singer appreciated Pheelz for the role he played that got him signed by YBNL.

The 35-year-old also gave a shout-out to Olamide while telling the concertgoers without him, “you guys would not know me”.

“Pheelz, thank you very much. Pheelz got me signed to YBNL. Pheelz, Mr finesse, thank you very much. I want to give a huge shoutout to Badoo. Without Olamide, you guys would not know me,” he said.

Adekunle Gold gained popularity after putting out ‘Sade’, his 2015 hit, and a high-life cover of One Direction’s ‘Story of My Life.’

He was then signed to YBNL in 2015 and later exited the record label after his contract had expired.

Adekunle has since made a name for himself in the music industry.

He has also released four albums so far, namely: ‘Gold’ (2016), ‘About 30’ (2018), ‘Afropop’ (2020), and ‘Catch Me If You Can’ (2022).

He is married to songstress, Simi and the union is blessed with a baby.
