It’s a miracle – Journalist, David Hundeyin reacts as Appeal Court annuls terrorism charges against Nnamdi Kanu

Nigerian journalist and writer, David Hundeyin has reacted to the recent judgement issued by the court of appeal regarding IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu’s case.

Recall few hours ago, The court of appeal in Abuja had strucked out the terrorism charge filed against Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Delivering judgment on Thursday, a three-member panel of the court of appeal held that Kanu’s extradition from Kenya to Nigeria to stand trial was illegal.

Kanu was re-arraigned on an amended 15-count charge bordering on treasonable felony preferred against him by the federal government.

Through his legal team led by Mike Ozekhome, kanu filed an appeal marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022, praying the court to quash the counts for being devoid of merit.

The court was also asked to order the immediate release of Kanu should the charges be quashed.

Hundeyin who shared his reaction to the latest development described it as a miracle, and further took Nigerians down memory lane in 2019 when Nnamdi Kanu miraculously resurfaced and led a successful election boycott in the opposition stronghold.

David Further wondered if such incident would repeat itself again.
