2023: PDP Pres. Candidate, Atiku under fire over sentimental apppeal to northerners (VIDEO)
The presidential candidate of opposition People’s democratic party, Atiku Abubakar has come under fire shortly after a video of him asking northerners to ignore yourba, Igbo and vote for him surfaced online.
In the now trending video obtained by Overtnews, the former vice president could be seen telling an audience in Kaduna that what the north needs is a northerner to become president and not yourba or Igbo candidate.
Reacting, most notable Nigerians took time to condemn Atiku over his recent stance, which according to many is capable of driving ethnic sentiments among Nigerians.
While reacting, Kingsley moghalu, a former deputy governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria expressed disappointment over the recent clip.
He further urged all candidates in the 2023 presidential elections to avoid ethnic or divisive sentimental appeals.
