Omeogo Pleads With Imolites To Embrace Peace
The House of Representatives candidate for Orlu, Orsu, and Oru East Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. High Chief Canice Moore Chukwugozie Nwachukwu Omeogo has pleaded with the people of the federal constituency and Imo State in general to embrace peace.
Hon. High Chief Canice Omeogo made the passionate appeal after his October 29th, 2022, official flag-off of his campaign to contest and represent the people at the green chambers.
He said the new order of a brother killing his brother is alien to him and Igbo culture, noting that spilling the blood of one’s brother is abominable in Igbo culture.
According to him, he was born, grew up, and schooled in Orlu and he has never seen such in his lifetime.

He pleaded with everyone to forgive and forget no matter the hurt or offence they may have suffered.
Omeogo further pleaded with all and sundry to lay down their weapons and arms and embrace peace, adding that the killings have adversely affected the economy of Orlu in particular and Imo state in general.
He reminded them that Orlu is the commercial nerve centre of Imo state but the recent events have turned the town to rumbles.
The House of Representative’s contender also appealed to sons and daughters of the federal constituency to start coming home, assuring them that peace, by the grace of God is fast returning.

To back it up, Hon. High Chief noted that people were apprehensive before his flag-off, that gunmen will invade and attack the venue of the occasion, but nothing like that happened, and even after the flag-off nobody has been molested or attacked.
He said his being able to flag off his campaign peacefully goes to show that peace was returning to the zone, which was hitherto not the case.
Omeogo further assured that peace will completely return to the zone as he said, “I will softly engage the federal government to see how we can create people-oriented programmes, like skill acquisition, then engage the youths equally, by asking them to calm down then the government will now create empowerment, like poultry, piggery, fisheries, snail rearing and other things that will empower them that at the end of the day they can put food on their table. They will have money to take care of their bills, and take care of their families, with that I believe that the restiveness will become a thing of the past or to a reasonable extent, will be alleviated.”
Hon. High Chief Canice called on his constituents to vote for him, as he has all it takes to attract meaningful developmental projects to the constituency, which will lead to the empowerment of youths.
He said given his antecedents of impacting the constituency in the past if, given the opportunity at the green chambers where he will have an opportunity to interact with the presidency, he will achieve more than expected considering his kind of person.
He said, “I have a distinguished career as a businessman and a public servant. I am a manager of men and resources. In my record of public service, accountability has been the
watchword. I coordinated the disbursement of stipends to people of this constituency and beyond and not one beneficiary was deprived of his or her entitlement. I have been faithful
in little and God has chosen to commit more into my hands to the Glory of His name.
“As a man of the people, I have seen firsthand the pains and challenges of my people. Past
leaders have done their part and it is time to raise the bar to greater heights. This is my
motivation. Having prevailed to leave my comfort zone to provide comfort for my people, I have taken up the gauntlet. For the love of my people – Ndi Orlu, Ndi Orsu na Ndi Oru East – I have committed myself to do the hard work and ensure that the voice of this constituency in the National Assembly does not go dim. Ndi be’anyi are not known to take the back seat. That is why we must not go for anyone that will drop the ball and lower the standards. We must go for the best among us and with all sense of humility, Omeogo is, without a doubt, the man for the job.”
He goes further to list some of the numerous things he will attract and bring to the constituency.
“Those who know me well as a man of integrity and action already know my capacity and worth. But for the sake of emphasis, let me give a hint of what this constituency stands to gain from my quality representation.
“If there is anything I have learned from the Executive Governor of Imo State,
Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, it is the power of constructive engagement.
His excellent rapport with the federal government has yielded several positive results.
“One of them is that the Federal College of Education will soon be converted to a Federal University of Education. Remember that this was initially the case but due to poor
engagement by the previous administration in Imo state, the conversion was reversed.
Onwa rebuilt the relationship from the scratch and soon, the conversion will be completed.
“How does this concern us? I am of the strong opinion that Imo state still deserves a Federal College of Education. Kaduna state alone has over 5 federal government tertiary
institutions that are recognised by law. People made it possible. I will push, lobby, and
engage constructively to see to the establishment of another Federal College of Education in this constituency. Let it be known that you heard this first from Omeogo.”
He appealed to the people to support Governor Hope Uzodinma wholeheartedly, noting that “he is our brother and supporting him will encourage him to do more for our federal constituency in particular and Orlu in general.”
Hon. High Chief Canice spoke about his relationship with the governor and paid glowing tributes to him.
“I am a political student under the leadership and mentorship of a proud son of Oru East,
Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma – Executive Governor of Imo State. A man that I have admired and worked with for decades and under whose sterling leadership Imo state is undergoing a transformational rebirth.”
