2023 Presidency: Let’s Not Make The Mistake Of Not Voting For Peter Obi – Chief Innocent Sunday Okeke

The South East Vice Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Chief Innocent Sunday Okeke has appealed to Nigerians not to make the mistake of not voting for the presidential candidate of the party, Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections.

Chief Okeke appealed in a recent video message to Nigerians ahead of the 2023 polls.

He said Obi is the great Philosopher, Socrates, of “our time”, who once said that “until philosophers become kings or presidents, man’s inhumanity to man will not end.”

According to him, the LP presidential candidate is a philosopher, who has promised to show the way and bring Nigerians out of the hard times.

The LP vice chairman reminded Nigerians that the former Anambra governor has the requisite experience to steer the affairs of the country as his previous experiences in the corporate, business and public management areas are a testament to that fact.

He said if Nigerians make the mistake of voting for people without wisdom who can not think far, to manage the country, it will become a jamboree.

He added that Nigeria can not afford to go through that line again.

“I want to quote from the great thinkers of our time, people like Aristotle, people like Plato, people like Socrates,” Chief Okeke said.

“Socrates captioned it this way. He said until philosophers become kings or become presidents and until presidents become philosophers that man’s inhumanity to man will not be put to an end and this is a great saying. When they speak people tend to misunderstand them and think they are talking out of line. But with time you find out that what these philosophers say will be on marble, with time it will reveal itself. Until philosophers become kings, or until kings are made philosophers that man’s inhumanity to man will not be brought to an end.

“Today in Nigeria, Peter Gregory Obi is a philosopher and he is pointing the way. He is telling everyone, believe in me, I will bring you out of this hard time, believe in me I will show you the way. He’s not saying it because he has not done it before. In the corporate world, he has justified himself, in the business world he has justified himself. In public management, he has justified himself. He is the Socrates of our time.

“If we do the mistake and allow people without wisdom, people who can not think far, people who can not think beyond their nose to manage Nigeria again, it will become a jamboree and Nigeria cannot afford to go through that line again.

“Peter Obi say give me Nigeria, hold me responsible if I do not put you through. Nigeria, this is a philosopher talking. Nigeria this is a philosopher talking, Nigeria this is a philosopher talking. Give him Nigeria, he will put everyone through. He will make sure that Nigeria is put back on track. He will turn Nigeria back to the original wheel.”

The LP presidential candidate has been receiving massive positive campaigns mostly on social media platforms by youths and top Nigerian celebrities

He is believed to be the only one that can turn the fortunes of Nigeria around given his reported good governance and prudent management of resources in Anambra when he was the governor of the state.

Obi faces Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) among other candidates for next year’s poll.
