Women from Ebem Ohafia, in Abia state who were joined by women from other communities have protested today, demanding an immediate release of their sons who were recognized as community vigilantes but were arrested two nights ago.
The women who were on black attire matched round the community, asking for the release of their children.
It was gathered that the Nigerian soldiers had arrested some of these vigilante members who were going about doing their job in broad daylight.
Instead of the soldiers to arrest those involved in kidnapping and killing of the residents, they resorted to the arrest of the gallant vigilante groups who were resisting the atrocities.
These women who comprised mostly of mothers had cried their hearts out to relevant agencies, demanding a release of the innocent vigilante group members as most of them where their children, husband’s and relatives.
