Again, Peter Obi Endorses Chief Charles Ahize, Highlights Qualities That Stands Him As Right Candidate For Orlu Senatorial Zone
The Senatorial bid of Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize for Imo West district, also known as Orlu zone has received a boost as the Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has again endorsed him.
Chief Ahize is vying for the Imo West Senatorial district in the 2023 general election under the platform of LP.
Obi’s endorsement for Chief Ahize was contained in a statement signed by the Coordinator, Ihioma Strategic Political Forum, Hon. Dr. Sab Okolie (Ochendu).
In the endorsement statement, titled “THE QUALITIES THAT STANDS CHIEF CHARLES UGOCHUKWU AHIZE OUT AS THE RIGHT SENATOR FOR OUR SENATORIAL ZONE,” Obi described Chief Ahize as a political colossus who has played active roles in the making of political leaders in Nigeria.
According to him, Chief Ahize is vibrant, dynamic, sharp-witted, a strategist, a philanthropist of a rare kind and a man to be reckoned with at all times.
He revealed that as an activist and a core politician, the Orlu zone senatorial candidate founded and led Obigbo, a socio/cultural and political pressure group that agitated for a better life for people.
He added, “OBIGBO that Chief Ahize led, criticised, protested, and sometimes took court litigations against government obnoxious policies against the Igbos by the ruling Federal Government. The policies in question are, oppressive, unjust, repressive, retrogressive, and all about Igbo marginalization.”
The former Anambra governor further noted that Chief Ahize, as an astute politician was one of the founding fathers of the Orlu Senatorial Consultative Assembly (OSCA) and Igbo United Congress.
“He was one of the recipients of the 100 fascinating Igbos award (1992),” he added.
The Obi endorsement statement reads, “Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize has also distinguished himself as a renowned philanthropist and this was recognised when the people of Isu Ancient Kingdom bestowed on him the title of Chinaeme Eze, Umunna Ancient Kingdom conferred on him also the title of Chinaeme Eze, Ozo Omuma Community honoured him with the title of Anaghi Agbowo Chiukwu Izu. From his Ihioma Clan, he is the Ugochinyere Mba.
