Nigerians Raises Alarm As Black Marketers Exchange New Naira Notes in Broad Daylight (Photos/Video)
Series of photos currently circulating online has captured the moment some black marketers exchanged the newly redesigned naira notes at a public gathering.
A Twitter user who shared photos of the notes in circulation stated that although most banks are yet to disburse the new naira notes to its customers, these hawkers now have it in abundance.
His post read;
“Nigerians will always find a way to circumvent the system
“New Naira notes wey banks no see disburse to customers, hawkers have in abundance to sell.
New Naira notes are already being hawked at parties!!!
Recall Nigeria’s apex bank, CBN had previously announced series of policies which would take effect from next year.
However, Despite the authorities stated objectives, experts are skeptical about such results in a country that has battled chronic corruption for decades, with government officials regularly arrested for looting public funds that has caused more hardship for the many struggling with poverty.
Experts believe that for the issuance of new bank notes to yield the expected results, the implementation of institutional reforms is necessary.
