Pandemonium as Angry Residents Protest Over New Naira Scarcity Along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (video)

Vehicular movement along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was disrupted following a gridlock that spread from the Mowe area of Ogun State towards the Long Bridge area of Arepo.
Protest had initially broke out in the area over the naira scarcity.
Although police operatives were present along the Lagos Ibadan, expressway, that didn’t stop the protesters from making their demands.
The protesters could be heard chanting, “Old naira notes”
A similar protest had initially occurred at Mile 12, Ketu and Ojota areas on the expressway, as Angry thugs took to the road attacking commuters and creating chaos.
Meanwhile, on Thursday the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), in a national broadcast had said the old N500 and N1,000 notes were no longer legal tender in the country, however extending the validity of the old N200 note for 60 days, till April 10, 2023.
