President-elect Tinubu, Vice Shettima Conferred With GCFR, GCON Honours
The President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has on Thursday been conferred with the highest national honour in the country – the Grand Commander of the Federal Republic (GCFR).
Also, his Vice-President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima, was conferred with the honour of the Grand Commander of Order of the Niger (GCON).
The honours were conferred on the two leaders by President Muhammadu Buhari.
This took place at the State House Conference Centre in Abuja as part of the Presidential Inauguration programme of events.
Overtnews reports that president also handed over the transition documents to Tinubu and Shettima.
This is in line with Executive Order 14 which mandates that the transition council issues handover notes containing, amongst other things, proposed policy direction for the incoming administration.
