South East political leaders and the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, an apex Igbo socio-cultural organization in Nigeria have resolved to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid the rising crisis in the region caused by members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
This comes after the end of a four-hour closed door meeting among Ohaneze Ndigbo, some political leaders and key stakeholders in the region on Monday, July 10, 2023.
In a video obtained by Overtnews, the meeting was attended by Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma who doubles as the Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum.
It is believed that the meeting was held to review ways in ending the continued crisis in the region.
Recall last week, this news website reported how some members of the IPOB terrorised citizens in the South East particularly in Ebonyi and Anambra States while enforcing the one week sit-at-home order given by the factional leader of Biafra, Simon Ekpa.
Also, this website reported that some arrests of the criminals by security operatives in the region were made.
It believed that the crisis in the region could be as a result of the continued detention of the founding leader of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
