The proscribed criminal group, the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), by its factional leader, Simon Ekpa, has issued another sit-at-home order.
This was disclosed in a tweet shared by a Twitter user @StFreakingKezy on Tuesday.
Overtnews reports that the new sit-at-home order will last for two weeks from July 31, 2023 to August 14, 2023.
The new directive was announced barely a week after the one week directive.
The sit-at-home directive coincided with important dates in the south east region of the country.
It is believed the order was given to distort the annual August meetings by women, the New yam festivals and the Masquerade festivals in the region.
The tweet reads, “The lords of biafra have declared another sit at home. This time it was last two weeks. In their estimation, the last dot at home rattled Abuja, so they want Biafrans to sit at home from July 31 – August 14.
“Those first two weeks in August are important in Igbo land.
“August meetings by women.
New yam festivals.
“But I guess nothing is too important it can’t be sacrificed for freedom. That’s what we have been thought.
“People believe we have been brainwashed, they don’t know we are children of Elohim. When nothing moves in Biafra, Abuja chokes. They don’t know us.
“Markets, schools, hospitals, govt offices. Total shut down. People must learn how to stock up. We don’t want to hear anybody complaining of hunger or sickness. We are Biafrans not weak people of the zoo.
“All marriages and funerals during that period are hereby cancelled. Abuja must free our supreme leader.
“After this we might do a three month sit at home.
