Vandals Damage Newly Built Second Niger Bridge

-

The newly commissioned Second Niger Bridge in the south east region of Nigeria has been damaged by a yet-to-be-identified group of vandals.

According to a Twitter user @ItsFreakingKezy, the damaged part of the bridge is the expansion joint walkway axis 330.

The vandals left with the covering of the joint.

Recall that the bridge in which the immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari was one of his campaign promises started the construction during his tenure and made sure that the bridge was completed before leaving office.

The bridge crosses the Niger River between the cities of Asaba in the west and Onitsha in the east.

“I just heard that the expansion joint walkway axis 330 of the newly constructed Muhammadu Buhari Bridge (2nd Niger Bridge) have began to be vandalized/stolen by Nigerians,” the source wrote.

“Buhari didn’t do anything in the South East according to you and still you dey vandalise a brand new bridge…
This is pure terrorism!!!.”
