Four Arrested Over Crude Oil Theft In Rivers State (Video)

No fewer than four persons have been arrested by officers of the Nigerian Navy for crude oil theft and illegal refining over the weekend in Rivers State.

This was disclosed to journalists by the Commander of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS) Pathfinder, Commodore Suliaman Ibrahim.

Commodore Ibrahim said the suspects were indigenes of Southern Ijaw in Bayelsa State but reside in Borokiri, Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital.

The suspects during interrogation confessed to have collected the sum of N20,000 to transport diesel products from the creek to Port Harcourt.

The four suspects would be handed over to the prosecuting agencies are the conclusion of investigation.

Elsewhere, the Navy has dismantled and excavated oil equipment of a suspected oil syndicate at Well 17 of Oil Mining Lease (OML) 18 in Elem Krakama Creek, Degema Local Government Area of Rivers, according to Galaxytv.
