The Super Falcons of Nigeria came from one goal behind to beat hosts, Australia 3-2 in their second Group B match at the FIFA Women’s World Cup on Thursday.
After an exhaustive 45 minutes, Australia first found the back of the net in added on time courtesy Van Edgmond to give them the lead but the Falcons replied a minute later from Uchenna Kanu to make it 1-1 before the referee signalled for half time.
The match resumed with Falcons having the upper hand as Osinachi Ohale gave her team the lead in the 65th minute.
The lead was doubled courtesy, Asisat Oshoala in the 72nd minute to make it 3-1 as they match on topping the table.
Austria remained determined after the match officials extended game time to 13 minutes, the hosts reduced the tally to 3-2 in the 90+10 minutes courtesy, Alanna Kennedy.
The Super Falcons are currently top of the table with four points as well Canada but on goal difference.
