Senate President, Godswill Akpabi, has come under heavy criticisms after he mistakenly announced on live television broadcast that money will be shared and sent to senators to their various accounts for them to enjoy during their holiday.
The moment was captured in a live telecast by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
He said this after plenary for Wednesday was adjourned.
“In order for us to enjoy our holidays, a token has been sent to our various accounts by the Clark of the National Assembly,” he said.
Although, Senator Akpabio withdrew the statement after he noticed that he was on live television.
This, however generated reactions from Nigerians on X criticising the kind of leaders voted into power to enrich themselves not having sympathy on the masses even at the time of economic hardship.
