Nigerian singer Asake expresses his desire to collaborate with American rapper Kanye West during a recent interview on Billboard News with Tetris Kelly. Asake, known for his hit song ‘Terminator,’ shared his perspective on collaboration, emphasizing the importance of a genuine connection beyond music.
Speaking about potential musical partnerships, Asake stated, “I need to like the person before I can make music with you. I need to be comfortable with you, not just because of the music alone. I like real energy.”
He continued, “There must be synergy. Let us see. Maybe God will do it. It can work. It’s Kanye West. It’s actually going to be amazing.”
Asake, whose real name is Ahmed Ololade, gained popularity in 2020 with his freestyle track ‘Mr Money’ and later signed with the record label YBNL in February 2022.
He has collaborated with several Nigerian artists, including Burna Boy, Olamide, and Davido. Asake holds a degree in theatre and performing arts from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).
Kanye West, a highly successful rapper with 24 Grammy Awards to his name, remains an influential figure in the music industry. Fans eagerly await the potential collaboration between Asake and the American rap icon.
