In a recent interview with Biola Bayo on her show, Talk to B, Nollywood actress Yetunde Bakare made headlines by openly stating that she doesn’t believe in marriage.
The Yoruba actress reiterated her stance during the conversation, sharing her reasons for not embracing the institution of marriage.
While she didn’t delve into the specific experiences that led to her disbelief in marriage, Yetunde emphasized her belief in love and revealed that she is currently in a committed relationship with a man but has no plans for marriage.
This decision remains unwavering, even though she comes from a family where her parents have enjoyed a happy marriage.
Yetunde Bakare stated, “I have experienced a lot of things and I don’t believe in marriage anymore, but I believe in love. We don’t have to be married to love each other. I can love you and respect you from afar without being a MRS.”

She went on to express her perspective on relationships, mentioning that most men appreciate qualities like humility, respect, down-to-earth nature, and patience in their partners.
Yetunde acknowledged that while marriage can be a wonderful institution, it’s simply not something she envisions for her own future.
Despite her personal stance on marriage, she is presently deeply involved in a serious relationship and genuinely in love. Yetunde Bakare concluded, “I don’t see myself getting married at all.”
