The factional leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Simon Ekpa, has issued a fresh sit-at-home order in the South East region of Nigeria.
In a video making round on social media, the factional leader who is currently in exile, Finland said the group would embark on a 3-week civil disobedience against the Nigerian government over the unlawful detention of some of their members who are in custody with the police.
According to Ekpa, the 3-week sit-at-home would commence on Monday, September 18, 2023 failure for the Nigerian government to release IPOB members in detention before September 15.
The sit-at-home order is also an agitation over unlawful roadblocks on major roads in the region.
He further said that a curfew would be imposed in the five eastern states in the country from Tuesday, September 19 to Friday, September 22, 2023, the curfew is expected to last for six hours between 6:00am and 12:00pm.
