Following a two-year trial by the Beninese government, Yoruba Nation activist Chief Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, is once again free.

According to Tribune Online, Igboho has now been freed from protective custody in the neighboring Republic of Benin.

President of the Yoruba Nation, Prof. Banji Akintoye, Sunday Igboho was just released a short while ago, and he is currently en route to Germany to be with his family.

It would be recalled that Igboho was detained by the International Criminal Police Organization on July 19, 2021, while en route to Germany at the Cadjhoun Airport in Cotonou, Republic of Benin.

He had left Nigeria following a brutal raid by the Department of State Service (DSS) on his Soka home in the capital city of Oyo State, Ibadan, where they had accused him of keeping weapons in storage.
