Afrobeats sensation Davido has responded to allegations made by former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick regarding his non-appearance at a show in Warri, Delta State.

Pinnick accused the artist, whose real name is David Adeleke, of failing to attend the event despite being paid $94,600 and having a private jet worth $18,000 arranged for him.

In a statement posted on his Instagram handle, Davido clarified that he had informed the show promoters well in advance that he wouldn’t be able to attend the event.

Despite this, the promoters continued to use his name and photos to promote the show.

Davido expressed his regret to his devoted fans in Warri who had spent their hard-earned money on tickets and assured them that he would make it up to them.

He pledged to bring an even more spectacular performance to Delta State in the future.

Amaju Pinnick, in his comments, urged Davido not to let fame make him proud and disputed claims that he is Nigeria’s biggest artiste.
