Prior to the team’s friendlies against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique, twenty players have arrived at the Super Eagles camp in Partimao, Portugal.
This was announced on the Super Eagles’ X (previously Twitter) account as their camp got underway on Wednesday.
With Olorunleke Ojo of Enyimba and Adebayo Adeleye of Hapoel Jerusalem expected, Francis Uzoho of Omonia is the only goalkeeper in camp. Defenders in training include Bright Osayi-Samuel (Fenerbahce), Jordan Torunarigha (KAA Gent), Kenneth Omeruo (Kasimpasa), and Oluwasemilogo Ajayi (West Bromwich Albion).
Others are Tyrone Ebuehi (Empoli), Chidozie Awaziem (Boavista), Bruno Onyemaechi (Boavista), Calvin Bassey (Fulham), and Chidozie Awaziem. Additionally present in training are the midfielders Wilfred Ndidi (Leicester City), Raphael Onyedika (Club Brugge), Joe Ayodele-Aribo (Southampton), and Alex Iwobi (Fulham).
Of the attackers, Samuel Chukwueze of AC Milan, Moses Simon of FC Nantes, Ademola Lookman of Atlanta, Victor Osimhen of SSC Napoli, Umar Sadiq of Real Sociedad, Terem Moffi of OGC Nice, and Victor Boniface of Bayer Leverkusen are among them.
Three players are anticipated to report to camp today, including Brentford’s Frank Onyeka, Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho, and Hatayaspor FC’s Fisayo Dele-Bashiru.
At 5 o’clock, Jose Peseiro’s team is scheduled to begin their first practice.
The Super Eagles’ first match is against Saudi Arabia on October 13; their second match is against Mozambique on October 16.
The Eagles are practicing for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe by playing these two friendly matches.
