Actor IK Ogbonna Reacts To Junior Pope’s Death

Nollywood actor IK Ogbonna has issued a compelling call for urgent regulation in the film industry following the recent death of his colleague, Junior Pope.

Ogbonna, also known as Ikechukwu Ogbonna, emphasized the need for strict rules regarding late-night shooting, particularly for those whose health is compromised due to strenuous schedules.

Expressing concern over the toll that relentless work hours take on the health of industry workers, Ogbonna advocated for the inclusion of a medical department on every movie set to handle emergencies effectively.

He highlighted the detrimental effects of inadequate rest on the human body and lamented the frequent loss of celebrated Nollywood artists.

In his statement, Ogbonna urged industry stakeholders to prioritize safety measures and implement necessary changes to prevent further tragedies.

He emphasized that the recent loss should serve as a wake-up call for the industry to prioritize the well-being of its members and prevent future casualties.

“It is disheartening to say but we only hear of the celebrated we lose, but we tragically lose crew members all too frequently. May this unfortunate loss serve as a catalyst for change, ultimately saving lives,” he wrote
