AFCON: Boost For Hosts Ivory Coast As Sebastien Haller and Simon Adingra Declared Fit For E’Guinea

Ivory Coast, the hosts of the Africa Cup of Nations, are optimistic about the inclusion of both Sebastien Haller and Simon Adingra in their final group game against Equatorial Guinea on Monday.

Coach Jean-Louis Gasset has confirmed that both players are fit again after missing the first two matches. The absence of Borussia Dortmund striker Haller has been keenly felt by the Ivorian team, as their attack lacked sharpness in the tournament’s opening win against Guinea Bissau and subsequent defeat to Nigeria.

Despite facing an ankle injury, he has been persevering, while Adingra has unfortunately been absent for the initial two matches.

However, both players are expected to make their appearance in the final Group A game against Equatorial Guinea in Abidjan.

“We know that if we win, we are qualified and that is important. Haller will be in the group.

“Everyone is talking about Haller. I would like to add Simon Adingra. Both will be in the group. We will have to be efficient and score quickly,” said Gasset.
