Big Wins for Nigeria’s Entertainment Industry As Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Davido, and More Nominated for 2024 BET Awards

The Nigeria’s entertainment industry has continued to live up to expectations following the nominations of super stars including Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Asake, Tems, Davido, Lojay, and Seyi Vibez for the 2024 BET Awards.

The organizers of the annual BET Awards announced the nominations for the 2024 edition on Thursday, highlighting the impact of African stars.

Burna Boy, known as the ‘African giant’, secured nominations in the Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Best Male R&B/POP Artist categories. He is joined by fellow Nigerian acts Asake, Ayra Starr, and Seyi Vibez.

Drake leads the nominations with seven nods, while Nicki Minaj follows closely with six.

Davido and Lojay earned a nomination for the Viewers Choice Award for their collaboration on Chris Brown’s ‘Sensational’. Asake was also nominated for Best International Act, and Seyi Vibez received a nomination for Viewers Choice Best International New Act.

The BET Awards 2024 will be broadcast live on BET on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 8 p.m. (European Time).
