Bundesliga: Bayern Back on Track After Harry Kane’s Hat-trick In 8-1 Demolition Of Mainz

Bayern Munich secured a resounding victory in the Bundesliga by defeating FSV Mainz 8-1, further extending Mainz’s winless away record to 17 matches.

Bayern Munich, trailing league leaders Bayer Leverkusen by 10 points, aimed for a perfect run to retain the Meisterschale. They took an early lead against FSV Mainz, with Jamal Musiala setting up Harry Kane after tempting the goalkeeper off his line.

Soon after, Kane’s header hit the woodwork, leading to Leon Goretzka’s follow-up goal off the opposite post.

FSV Mainz struggled and relied on VAR to overturn a Bayern penalty. Despite this, they managed to halve the deficit with a long-range strike from Nadiem Amiri.

However, Bayern remained dominant, with Sepp van den Berg clearing Thomas Müller’s header off the line before Harry Kane scored just before halftime to restore Bayern’s two-goal lead.

The second half at the Allianz Arena saw Bayern Munich continue their dominance, with Jamal Musiala assisting Thomas Müller for a tap-in just after halftime.

Bayern then scored three more goals in 10 minutes, with Harry Kane providing an assist for Musiala’s goal and Serge Gnabry scoring a remarkable volleyed backheel. Kane completed his hat-trick, making him the first player to score four hat-tricks in their debut Bundesliga season, as Bayern cruised to a 7-1 victory.

In stoppage time, Leon Goretzka scored again to double his personal tally, heading in at the back post to compound Mainz’s humiliation.

With only one victory in their last 15 matches, Mainz’s 15-year tenure in the German top-flight appears precarious, leaving them nine points from safety with an extra game played.
Despite the potential departure of Thomas Tuchel, Bayern Munich’s commanding win offers hope for a 12th consecutive Bundesliga title, although they have not kept a clean sheet in seven consecutive league games.
