In a thrilling match at the Africa Cup of Nations finals, Cameroon displayed their resilience by scoring two goals in the closing stages to secure a 3-2 victory over Gambia.

This remarkable comeback allowed them to advance from Group C, despite being on the brink of elimination just minutes earlier.

The hero of the match was defender Christopher Wooh, who scored a dramatic stoppage-time winner. This crucial goal propelled the Indomitable Lions to second place in the group, trailing behind Senegal.

Cameroon secured their spot in the next round by finishing ahead of Guinea based on goals scored. Unfortunately, Gambia’s journey came to an end as they suffered their third consecutive defeat.

Cameroon’s triumph was not an easy one, as they had to fight tooth and nail in a game filled with relentless attacks and end-to-end action. With only five minutes remaining, they found themselves trailing 2-1.

However, their determination and never-give-up attitude allowed them to turn the tide and keep their hopes alive.

In a thrilling match, Wooh scored a crucial goal in the first minute of stoppage time to secure a comeback victory. Despite being ranked 80 places below their opponents, Gambia dominated the first half.

However, Cameroon came back strong in the second half, with Georges-Kevin Nkoudou hitting the crossbar and assisting Karl Toko Ekambi for the opening goal.

Ablie Jallow equalized for Gambia in the 72nd minute, causing the Cameroon defense to look shaky. Gambia then took the lead in the 85th minute through Ebrima Colley’s powerful shot.

Cameroon needed two goals to win and managed to level the score when James Gomez unintentionally scored an own goal. In a stunning conclusion, Wooh secured the victory for Cameroon.

Cameroon made a change in goal, replacing Andre Onana with Fabrice Ondoa, who made crucial saves to keep Gambia from scoring.
