Ibrahim Musa The Nigeria Police Force has paraded 48 suspects arrested for various crimes such as kidnapping, armed robbery, cybercrime, and cattle rustling. Parading the suspects in Abuja, police spokesman Mr. Frank Mba said the suspects – comprising 47 males and one female – were arrested in different parts of the country at different times. Some of the suspects include Aliyu Suleiman, who is 26-year-old and the leader of an armed robbery gang responsible for the attack and collection of a rifle from two police officers around Abuja. Ndanusa Ndume Boko Haram Commander Abubakar Shekau has claimed responsibility for Tuesday’s bombing of Maiduguri. At least ten persons were killed during the attack which was carried out with rocket launchers, according to witnesses. Ibrahim Musa Family and friends of the seven officers who died in the Nigeria Air Force Plane (NAF) plane crash could not hold back their tears at the burial ceremony. The event which was held on Thursday at the national military cemetery in Abuja saw an outpour of emotion from both the young and old as the bodies of the late officers were lowered into the graves amidst tears and wailing. Lawal Ogunsanya The Lagos State Government has announced that there will be a total closure of the Third Mainland Bridge from midnight of Friday, February 26 till midnight of Saturday, February 27. The Commissioner for Transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde, says the 24-hour closure would enable the contractors move the equipment used during the rehabilitation process off the bridge completely to allow both the Oworonshoki and Adeniji bound lanes to open fully to traffic. He explained that the closure was necessary having completed the replacement of the 12 expansion joints and to demobilise the superstructure of the bridge.
