Davido Settles Breach of Contract Suit with Pinnick, Agrees to Pay N30m

Nigerian music sensation Davido, real name David Adedeji Adeleke, has reached a settlement in the breach of contract lawsuit brought against him by former NFF President, Amaju Pinnick’s Brownhill Investment Company Limited.

The agreement was made at the High Court of Delta State, Effurun, where Davido agreed to settle the dispute out of court.

As per the terms of the consent judgment in the N2 billion suit, Davido has agreed to pay N30 million to the claimant within seven days, as a partial contribution to the outstanding legal fees.

This decision comes following extensive negotiations between the parties involved.

Initially filed by the claimant’s lawyer, Kelechi Onwuegbuchulem, the suit sought N2 billion in general damages against Davido.

Additionally, the claimant requested N150 million for legal and professional fees, along with an extra N30 million for the cost of filing the suit.

Both Davido and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited, were listed as defendants in the lawsuit.

In a bid to resolve the matter amicably, both parties have agreed to perform at the upcoming “Warri Again Concert” edition scheduled for October 4, 2024.

Furthermore, the $94,500 already paid by the claimant to the defendants will be considered as part of Davido’s performance fee at the event.
