Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Maryanne Ahneeka Iwuchukwu, has openly criticized her co-star and winner of Season 7, Phyna, for her approach in demanding incomplete prizes from the show’s organizers.

Phyna recently took to social media, tearfully accusing the BBNaija organizers of failing to deliver a promised prize of 1 BTC, which she claimed is worth over N100 million.

The public outcry has stirred various reactions among fans and fellow housemates.

Ahneeka, speaking on the ‘Terms & Conditions’ podcast, expressed her disapproval of Phyna’s public call-out.

She described the move as unwise and suggested that Phyna’s sense of entitlement to the prize money was misplaced.

“The thing about Phyna is, the moment you come out of Biggie’s house and suddenly gain millions of followers, it can make you feel invincible,” Ahneeka stated.

“It happens to everyone, but it takes thought and management to keep hustling.”

Ahneeka acknowledged that while there might be a legitimate grievance regarding the unpaid prize, Phyna should have handled the matter privately.

“If the organizers truly owe her, it’s still a job. She should have sought an inner counsel and attempted a civil discussion before resorting to social media. Blackmailing the organizers online is not a wise strategy,” she added.

Ahneeka further emphasized that winning the show does not automatically entitle one to the prizes, urging Phyna to reconsider her approach.

“She could have easily not emerged as the winner or could have been the runner-up. Nobody inherently deserves that money,” she concluded.
