Kunle Afolayan Responds to Criticism Over Dance with Daughter at Movie Premiere


Kunle Afolayan, renowned filmmaker, has addressed critics following backlash over a dance he shared with his daughter, Eyiyemi, at the premiere of “Anikulapo: Rise of the Spectre.”

A video of the duo dancing surfaced on Eyiyemi’s Instagram account, sparking controversy over what some deemed as “inappropriate” due to the nature of their dance moves.

In response, Afolayan took to Instagram, sharing more highlights from the premiere with Phyno’s “Do I” featuring Burna Boy as background music, seemingly indicating his indifference towards the criticism.

Emphasizing the power of love, he asserted, “Love surpasses everything,” affirming his self-worth with statements like “I am a King! I am a child of the most high! You can only try.”

Eyiyemi also chimed in on her father’s post, adding, “Louder for those at the back please,” echoing their stance on the matter.
