NDLEA Raids Lagos, Edo, Ondo, Seizes 44,948kg Drugs and Vehicles


The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says its operatives have seized over 44,948.1kg of illicit drugs across Lagos, Edo and Ondo states.

Among those arrested were Sunday Otulugbu, 67, Agbayeogor Joshua, 39, Kelvin Ofuasia, 45, Williams Peter, 37, and Kamaru Onimisi, 44.

According to the statement,the anti-narcotics agency also confiscated 11 vehicles believed to be owned by the drug cartels.

According to the NDLEA spokesman,operatives destroyed a quantity of cannabis weighing 7,687.8 kilograms in Ala forest, Akure.

Additionally, on 21st of March another 6,500 kilograms of cannabis was eradicated in Uzebba/Avbiosi forest, leading to the arrest of Kabiru Idris, Alaba Jimoh, and Lekan Asobere. Meanwhile, in Okpuje forest, Owan West LGA, NDLEA forces, supported by the military, razed 5,000 kilograms of the same substance.

Moreso,Edo State on March 19,14,310.8625 kilograms of psychoactive substances was razed in Ohosu/Ugbogui forest, Ovia South West Local Government Area.

However, in Lagos State in an Operation on March 20, NDLEA operatives seized 10,534 kilograms of Ghanaian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, in the Ajah area. Meanwhile,This operation resulted in the seizure of 11 vehicles believed to be linked to the drug cartel.

“The recovered vehicles include: Iveco truck marked KRD 522 YE; Toyota sienna marked AAA 338 GL; Toyota sienna marked AAA 308 EP; Toyota Sienna marked FKJ 381 JC; Nissan bus marked EKY 846 YG; Mercedes bus marked EPE 743 XT; an unmarked Iveco J5 bus; Toyota sienna marked LSD 744 GP; Toyota highlander SUV marked KTU 280 FN; Toyota sienna marked AAA 333 GH and Toyota sienna marked FKJ 208 HV.”
