Nigerian Army Troops Rescue Kidnap Victims in Benue

Makurdi, Benue State – In a successful counter-terrorism operation, troops of the Nigerian Army, in conjunction with Volunteer Guards, rescued two kidnap victims and engaged suspected kidnappers in a fierce shootout in Tsede Village, along Road Tor Donga Takum in Katsina Ala Local Government Area of Benue State.

According to military sources, the troops swiftly responded to a distress call from the enclave of the suspected kidnap gang. Upon arriving at the location, they encountered the kidnappers and engaged them in a shootout, forcing the criminals to retreat in disarray, abandoning their captives.

The rescued victims were identified as Chief Sano Kursi and Augustine Sada. Both were reported to be unharmed and have since been reunited with their families.

During the operation, the troops recovered one FN rifle, one FN rifle magazine, 17 AK-47 rifle magazines, 10 rounds of 7.62 mm (Special) ammunition, 58 rounds of 7.62 mm (NATO) ammunition, and three ATM cards from the scene.

This successful rescue operation highlights the Nigerian Army’s commitment to protecting lives and property in the region and underscores the importance of collaboration between security forces and local communities in combating crime.
