Nollywood Actress Jumoke Aderounmu’s Brother Reveals Details Surrounding Her Untimely Death

In a recent interview with Punch, Adeola, the younger brother of late Nollywood actress Jumoke Aderounmu, shed light on her unexpected demise.

Contrary to speculation, Aderounmu asserted that his sister, famed for her role as Esther in ‘Jenifa’s Diary,’ passed away peacefully in her sleep and was not battling illness.

Aderounmu disclosed that prior to her passing, Jumoke had aspirations of relocating to the United Kingdom due to a dwindling number of movie roles in Nigeria.

Despite efforts to reach out to fellow actress Funke Akindele for support, purportedly through intermediaries like Paschaline Alex, assistance did not materialize, leading to a rift between the two actresses.

Describing his sister as an introvert who preferred solitude, Aderounmu emphasized that her demise was unexpected and not preceded by any known health issues.

Although Jumoke has been laid to rest, her family plans to commemorate her life with a tribute event at a church on the 40th day following her passing.

He said, “I did not reach out to her (Funke), because I don’t have her phone number, and I am not close to her. But, my sister had her number, and even sent another actress, Paschaline Alex to her, all to no avail.

“She (Funke) stopped calling her for jobs. Jumoke tried to know why, because she wanted to retrace her steps if she had committed any offence.

“She was an introvert, and usually kept to herself. She was actually not sick. She just died in her sleep.”
