Portable Arrested Over G-wagon Debt

Habeeb okikiola popularly known as Portable was said to be arrested over the failure of a car payment. He made a deposit of 12 million naira to a car dealer and promised to pay the remaining balance over a G-wagon vehicle.

The singer was arrested on Tuesday in the area of Abule Egba, Lagos by the Lagos State Command.
It was gathered that whenever he was contacted to make the payment, he made claims saying the vehicle is bad.

When the efforts of making Portable to pay the remaining balance proved abortive, the car dealer involved the police.

In a viral video when the police were making an arrest, he was shown an arrest warrant . He responded saying “ No problem, no problem oga mi” while pacing around. In a twinkle of an eye, the singer climbed over a gate, taking to his heels.
Another video resurfaced showing how he was arrested and bundled by four police officials in their standby vehicles.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed his arrest. He said “Yes, Portable has been arrested . He bought G-wagon for N27 million and paid N13 million, refusing to pay the rest claiming the vehicle is bad”

Portable, notorious for his popular hit songs, was brought to stardom by his single “Zazuu” which featured the popular rapper Olamide in the year 2021.

A copy of an undertaking form showed that Portable paid N12 million as initial payment for the car in January 2024 and promised to pay the remaining balance in February 2024.

An agreement between Habeeb okikiola (Portable) and a car dealer, Ogunsanwo Temitope has revealed that the singer is supposed to have paid the remaining balance since February, 2024.

The document reads “I, BADMUS OKIKIOLA HABEEB (Portable) hereby write this letter of undertaking that I purchase a Mercedes Benz GLE 350 black colour with CHASIS NUMBER: 4JDA5HB6GA656575 at the rate of Twenty Seven Million Naira only which I promise to make the first payment( 12 million naira) on the 10th of January, 202, second payment(5 million naira) on the 24th of January, 2024. The third payment( 5 million naira) will be made on 10th of February, 2024. The remaining balance will be paid on the 24th of February.
“Failure to comply with all these agreements or failure to fulfill this kind of payment, the car dealer has the power to retrieve the Mercedes Benz GLE back from me without any refund”

The musician was arrested over the debt.

He was arrested for the failure to pay the debt he owed over the G-wagon which amounts to N15 million naira.
