Tinubu Applauds NSA and Security Agencies for Kuriga Schoolchildren’s Release

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his appreciation for the successful release of the Kuriga school children in Kaduna State, following their abduction by gunmen on motorcycles.

The incident, which occurred on March 6th, saw approximately 287 students taken from their school, prompting widespread condemnation from several quarters including the UN children’s welfare agency UNICEF.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu commended the collaborative efforts of the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, and various security agencies for their swift action in securing the children’s freedom.

After enduring two weeks in captivity, the abducted children were rescued in Zamfara State through a joint operation involving military forces and local authorities. This development was announced on a Sunday by the military.

In response,President Tinubu lauded the diligence and effectiveness demonstrated by the security agencies, emphasizing the crucial role of coordinated efforts between the federal government and states, particularly in matters of security.

“President Bola Tinubu welcomes the news of the release of the Kuriga school children in Kaduna State and emphasizes the importance of collaboration between the federal government and states for expected outcomes, especially on matters of security,” a statement by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale read.

Moreso,President Tinubu highlighted the meticulous attention and tireless dedication exhibited by those involved in the rescue mission. He praised the Kaduna State Government for their prompt response and underscored the importance of such concerted efforts in addressing mass abductions.

“The President commends the National Security Adviser, the Security Agencies, and the Kaduna State Government for the dispatch and diligence with which they handled this situation, noting that incipient urgency, meticulous attention, and tireless dedication are critical to optimal outcomes in cases of mass abductions.”

Additionally, he applauded the successful release of pupils from a Tsangaya school in Sokoto State, commending all parties involved for their bravery and determination.

“The Commander-in-Chief also welcomed “the release of pupils of a Tsangaya school in Sokoto State, commending all the parties to the feat for their valiant effort.”

However,He assured Nigerians that his administration is deploying detailed strategies to ensure that our schools remain safe sanctuaries of learning, not lairs for wanton abductions.
