Troops Eliminate 20 IPOB Members and Destroyed Base in Imo State Raid


A combined team of Operation Udoka, alongside the Nigeria Police, DSS, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, successfully raided a stronghold belonging to IPOB/ESN terrorists in Mother Valley, Orsu LGA of Imo State.

Under the leadership of Major Gen Edward Bubamade, Director of Defence Media Operations disclosed that the operation resulted in the neutralization of 20 IPOB/ESN militants and the dismantling of their Supreme Headquarters, Command and Control Center, and Military Council Headquarters.

The troops cleared approximately 50 hideout tents concealed within the valley, including the residence, office, logistic base, temple, and shrine of notorious IPOB/ESN leader, Buteuzor.

Despite the criminals’ attempts to conceal their activities under the cover of foliage, the security forces, equipped with advanced surveillance technology, were able to root out the terrorists and their infrastructure.

During the operation, a significant cache of weapons was recovered, including G3 rifles, AK47 rifles, auto pump-action guns, double-barrel guns, locally made pistols, and RPG bombs.

Additionally, assorted ammunition and explosive devices were seized, along with communication devices, CCTV cameras, and propaganda materials.

However,Troops destroyed all camps, hideouts and shrines in the location. “The location was also littered with shallow graves indicative of Idol worshipping and ritual killings.

“The ritual killings at the camp accounts for the several cases of missing persons in the region.
