Two Young Girls Lose Lives In Tragic Bauchi Fire Incident


Resulting from a devastating fire in the Madina quarters area of Bauchi metropolis, two young girls identified as Zainab Bashir Mohammed, aged 8, and Ummu Salma Bashir Mohammed, aged 5, tragically lost their lives.

Bauchi’s Madina quarters, tragedy struck as a devastating fire engulfed a residential building, claiming the lives of two innocent young girls.

Identified as Zainab Bashir Mohammed, aged 8, and Ummu Salma Bashir Mohammed, aged 5, the sisters were unable to escape the flames that consumed their home.

In a press release, the Bauchi State Police Command stated that they received a distress call on March 17, 2024, alerting authorities to a fire outbreak in a residential building.

Upon receiving a distress call on March 17, 2024, authorities swiftly responded, dispatching a team of policemen from the ‘C’ Divisional Police Headquarters along with firefighters from the Federal Fire Service to the scene.

Despite the valiant efforts of emergency responders, the intensity of the blaze had already taken its toll, leaving the two girls trapped within the inferno, their bodies tragically unrecognizable due to severe burns.

Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, CP Auwal Musa Mohammed, assured the public of a thorough investigation to uncover the cause of the fire and ensure justice for the victims.

According to the police statement,another distressing incident emerged as a suspected motorcycle thief fell victim to vigilante justice at Magama Weekly Market.

Meanwhile,Rather than turning the suspect over to the authorities, an enraged mob resorted to violence, ultimately beating the individual to death and setting his body ablaze.

CP Auwal Musa Mohammed emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law. Under his leadership, the Bauchi State Command vowed to pursue justice for both the victims of the fire tragedy and the unjustly lynched suspect.

Appealing for calm from the public, the Commissioner assured citizens that thorough investigations into both incidents would be conducted with utmost priority, aiming to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the senseless violence.
