I Was Supposed To Be YBNL Princess – Candy Bleakz Reveals


In a recent interview on the TV program “Trending,” hosted by KimOprah, Candy Bleakz disclosed a significant moment in her career, revealing that she almost became a part of YBNL Nation in 2015.

The singer expressed her disappointment as she was edged out by Temmie Ovwasa for the coveted title of YBNL Princess.

Candy Bleakz recounted the moment with sincerity, stating, “The day Baddo (Olamide) unveiled Temmie Ovwasa, she is my friend but I was really sad. I was supposed to be the YBNL Princess. I was like, ‘Why did they sign someone else?'”

During the interview, she also shed light on the challenges faced by female artists in Nigeria, highlighting the double standards prevalent in the industry.

“For a female artiste, when you’re pretty it’s a problem, when you’re ugly it’s a problem. When you’re too sexy it’s an issue and when you are not it’s an issue,” she expressed.
