Tinubu Embarks on Official Visit to the Netherlands and Saudi Arabia


President Bola Tinubu is set to embark on an official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, followed by attendance at a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Saudi Arabia.

Overtnews reports that the trip, scheduled to commence on Tuesday, April 23, comes at the invitation of the Dutch Prime Minister, Mark Rutte.

This was disclosed in a statement by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

According to the statement, during his visit to the Netherlands, President Tinubu will engage in high-level discussions with Prime Minister Rutte and have separate meetings with King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima.

Notably, Queen Maxima serves as the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA).

The President’s itinerary also includes participation in the Nigerian-Dutch Business and Investment Forum, aimed at fostering collaboration and partnerships, particularly in agriculture and water management.

Discussions on port management operations, leveraging Dutch expertise, will also feature prominently.

The statement noted: “After his engagements in the Netherlands, the President will proceed to attend a special World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting scheduled for April 28-29 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

“At the World Economic Forum meeting, which focuses on Global Collaboration, Growth and Energy for Development, President Tinubu and his entourage will use the opportunity of the gathering of over 1,000 leaders from business, government, and academia to engage in discussions in furtherance of his Renewed Hope Agenda for the country.”

The statement emphasized the importance of these engagements in furthering Nigeria’s economic and developmental goals on the global stage.
